Dianna Berger joined the Mechanical Engineering Department as the Graduate Program Coordinator in September 2015. She began her career at Stony Brook University in 2006 as the Departmental Secretary for the Department of Biochemistry and Cell Biology before becoming Secretary to the Chair and assisting with graduate program admissions. Now, in the Mechanical Engineering department, Dee coordinates all administrative processes for the graduate program of 175-200 students, including admissions into the MS, PhD and accelerated programs, student appointments, registration, qualifying exam, thesis and dissertation defense, graduation clearance, new student orientation, and serves as a liaison and resource to students.
Dee has a degree in Therapeutic Recreation and worked as a Recreation Therapist and Director of Recreation in various nursing homes from 1992-2006. She is excited to be a part of the Mechanical Engineering team. Her dedication to the department was most recently recognized when she was nominated and won the 2017-2018 Chancellor's Award for Excellence in Classified Service.
