Research Overview 

The College of Engineering and Applied Sciences has 9 academic departments, 12 majors and 40 minors. Its faculty body of  175 includes distinctions such as 62 NSF CAREER awards; recipients of the National Medal of Science; the National Medal of Technology; as well as members of the National Academy of Engineering; and 16 SUNY Distinguished Professorships. Faculty and students work together on interdisciplinary topics in 20 research centers and institutes including Brookhaven National Laboratory, Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory, New York State institutions and industry.
