External Fellowships and Scholarships is responsible for managing the on-campus nomination process for nationally-competitive , merit-based awards, as well as offers extensive advising and support for student and postdoc applicants to these types of opportunities.
What We Do: External Fellowships and Scholarships seeks to create a culture where SBU students and postdocs consider applying for nationally competitive awards early in their careers. We work to recruit promising applicants and to support them in developing their materials. Nationally competitive fellowships generally include merit-based funding for students and postdocs to support study, experiential learning and research domestically or abroad. Our advising focuses on awards that require an on-campus nomination or interview process, but we can be consulted on a variety of opportunities.
