Alex Herrera is a Mechanical Engineering student in her senior year at Stony Brook University. She is the President of AIAA, a part of two research labs, and currently interning with NASA.

Shanshan Yao joined the Mechanical Engineering Faculty at Stony Brook University in the Spring of 2020. Her research is primarily in the areas of functional materials, smart structures, advanced manufacturing, and soft electronics.

The SBU Motorsports Team, founded in 1987, competes at the annual Baja SAE competition. Students build, design, and race off-road vehicles.
