Technology Interests and History
Jay Mendelson joined the Mechanical Engineering department as a lecturer in Fall, 2016. He teaches core courses for Mechanical Engineering Design I & II, Design of Machine Elements, and Engineering Statics. His technology expertise involves flow, temperature and pressure sensors; process control, metrology, sensors for renewable energy generation, and load cells. He is an industry expert in new product development processes, intellectual property analysis, and product safety regulations.
His principal accomplishments are in leading the design of new lines of wireless transmitters, dataloggers, chart recorders, thermal mass and coriolis flow controllers, thermocouples, RTD’s, infrared thermometers, pressure sensors, rocker switches, toggle switches, GFCI receptacles, and wafer test equipment.
