Areas of Interest

Research in the Soft Flyers Group lies at the intersection of soft and aerial robotics. We are exploring the possibilities and opportunities in aerial robots enabled by soft robotics technologies. We study this field through eclectic robot and robot component design, drawing inspiration from a wide range of sources such as biological flyers, natural phenomena, and science fiction. Our research opens the door to new technologies that can expand the capabilities of aerial, ground, underwater, and soft robots in challenging environments, increasing overall robustness and safety. These aims are achieved through practical modeling, rigorous experimentation, and full vehicle validation.
