Whether deciding to join our department as a student or new faculty member, verifying a university’s rankings and evaluating data used to determine the rankings should be a critical part of the process. Here is a sample of our Department and University rankings:

  • 2016 U.S. News & World Report (USNews) Graduate School and National Rankings
    • Mechanical Engineering is ranked among the top tier (#59) of national universities by US News and World Report. Read  more 
    • The Wall Street Journal ranked Stony Brook University (SUNY) #8 amongst public universities sending students to elite graduate programs
